Planning
Branson has several good ideals that every company should follow suit in my opinion. One of these beliefs is that you should step out of your comfort zone and explore uncharted territory. An example of this was when he took a big leap to start up Virgin Galactic, a company which specializes in space tourism. Branson also believes that your employees can be a key source of information of what direction the company should head. An example of this was when Brett Godfrey, head of Virgin Blue, composed a plan to star up a low cost airline in Australia on a beer mat. 10 years later, he expand the airline to the USA, New Zealand and South Africa. Another Belief Branson believes in is to seek many opinions before exciting a plan, which would allow his company to save a lot of time and money. The last ideals Branson is not to pursue something if you don't enjoy it. This is by far I'm my opinion the best ideal that he uses when planning future edovours of his company because if you are not proud of what you are building, then what is the point of building it.

Organizing
Branson uses this function of management to organize his employees in positions within his company by what their interests are, skills and qualifications. He also assigns people jobs based on the goals and the activities or tasks needed to achieve the company goals. He treats everyone of his employees with the same respect across the board and he pays close attention to what unique skills or mindset someone has to offer in the organizing process in my opinion.
Leading
I believe that Richard Branson's methods for getting his workforce aligned with his company's goals is excellent. One of the methods he gives his employees a say of what can be improved within the company and new ideas that can be implemented to make the workforce more productive. He claims that this new idea helps employees feel that they have an impact of how the company operates and to make them feel closer to Virgin. Another method he uses is he believes that good communication is achieved by talking face to face or calling but not form texting or emailing as he states here: "The quality of business communication has grown poorer in recent years as people avoid phone calls and face-to-face meetings". The last belief Branson uses in his company is to make employees feel like entrepreneurs so that they are more suited for change within the workplace and make them have more responsibility because if you give your workforce more responsibility, they become more efficient.

Controlling
Branson has several beliefs when it comes to controlling his employees within his company. One of these beliefs is to build a comfort zone within the company to allow his workforce to be more productive and to be more self-motivated towards their work. He also believes that trust is a key component within any company and that employees should be given a second chance if they make an mistake. An example of this was when Branson was in charge of Virgin Records. An talent-scout started to steal boxes full of records and sold them at secondhand shops. He was eventuality tipped off by another employee and he was called up to Branson's office. He admitted to everything but Branson decided to give him a second chance instead of firing him because according to him "everyone messes up sometimes" and that they deserve a second chance.

Resource Management
Branson's position in the Virgin Group is as the Founder/CEO. As CEO of his company, he must oversee all departments within the company such as HR, marketing, sales, and Financial departments. In his company, Richard Branson manages human resources very closely as he believes that your staff should be a company's #1 priority. An example of him managing human resources was when a manager in one of Virgin's Caribbean resorts was going against Virgins beliefs by not letting employees drink with customers on the job. He was swiftly dealt with and a new manager was put in action. Also in his company as CEO, he is incharge of all departments in his company that are managed by their respected department managers.
